NOTE: This has been a long project and it has suffered from several modifications. Please refer to Print Settings for more details.

The model represents the Batsignal as seen in the original movie "The Dark Knight Rises" from 2012.
It has been modelled at a 1:8 scale approximately according to Batman height estimations, nevertheless it can probably be scaled up. Scaling it down will probably need severe post printing modifications.

If you like the model, please take a second to consider tiping the creator, just on the left side of your screen. Modelling and preparation for 3d printing took around 20 hours. Just the 3d printing itself took around 65 hours, and sanding, painting and weathering have taken countless hours of work, I'd say more than 100 easily. Take a look again at the pictures and leave a comment about what you think, tip through Thingiverse (you just need a Paypal acount), or check my patreon if you feel amazed by the quality of the model.
Do you want a copy of the blueprint, just let me know by private message! It makes the perfect partner for the 3d printed Batsignal.

Several non-printed elements have been used:

  • 1x MicroUSB female terminal.

  • 1x 3.3V voltage regulator.

  • 1x 1W LED + Aluminum heat sink.

  • 1mm cable for wiring, aproximately 30 cm (12 inches).

  • 12x M3 screws with different lenghts.

  • 14x M3 nuts.

  • 2x M6 bolts for attaching the frame to the base.

  • A ton of M2 screws with half round head and hex socket.

  • 1x 3 pin slide switch.

  • Transparent 400 micron acetate sheet.

All these components can be bought in several places as well as in Aliexpress with international shipping. I think there is no need to include a scheme of the wiring because it's pretty straightforward. As an alternative, the electric box was designed to fit a 3xAAA battery holder. The decision to use USB of batteries is up to you!

I will include more details as questions appear in the comments, otherwise I think there is not too much to say.
Thank you for passing by, print it and enjoy.
The first one to get a picture on a foggy night with the batsignal will get a token from me ;)

Notes:

Modelling and printing has take more than 6 months and during that time, some of the pieces has suffered from pre- and post-printing modifications. Therefore there is a chance that some pieces doesn't contain all final details or they need to be adjusted afterwards.
Supports has been custom created into some of the pieces and most of other files doesn't need them, nevertheless each piece is different so different criteria could apply for different printers.
Pieces A and B has been splitted into 4 pieces each to fit in standard FDM printers, as they are just over 20x20 cm. In case you want to print them in one piece, just ask for them, as it's very easy to export them again.
I printed completely in ABS but I see no reason why it should be printed in other materials.

How I Designed This

This replica has been designed from the original movie taking as reference the movie itself as well as pictures from the batsignal dispersed all over the internet. Despite it has been completely modelled from scratch, if Warner Bros. Pictures or any other person/company owns the trademark for Batman series and feel that this model violate their rights, please contact me personally and I will be happy to remove it from the website.
