For display on your desk or shelf, I present a sword and scabbard.
The sword assembles much like a real sword would (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snqNl6U2OLE). I am also including a template for the tsuba so people with more talent than me can make even fancier ones.
The tolerances on this model are all VERY tight. Almost everything will need some sanding to make it fit right.
This is a long model, you will need to use mesh mixer or netfab to cut it into pieces that your printer can handle.
I did the knots with shoelaces and looked up on youtube how to tie them.
Assembly
All the parts slide on from the handle end.
The Habaki slides on first. As you can see in the video there is a small notch to line up with the 'sharp' edge of the blade.
Slide the tsuba on with the thicker edge (see video) facing the 'sharp' edge
Slide the handle on also with its thicker edge toward the 'sharp' edge
Cap the handle with the kashira
put the pins in to hold it all in place.
