Bow to the drift king

Printed on a DLP machine, this is quite a finnicky build and not for beginners. Size up to 555% to approximate real world scale.

I've separated the eye into multiple pieces for ease of coloring and printed them hollow. it's a good idea to punch drainage holes all the way through the pieces in case you want to separate it later. Take note of the orientation arrows!

Biggest hurdle is achieving max clarity on the outer shells without them turning into stone.

What I did:

Print both pieces flat on the plate with only small supports going to the ears. (minimize marks caused by supports.)
I cured the pieces in water without cleaning to improve clarity. Curing in water also helps lower cure times and prevent yellowing.
Then LOTS of sanding from 800 to 3000 grit making sure to get the interior and exterior smooth. Lastly, seal with a clear coat.

The sanding stage is the most tedious and difficult and a dremel would DEFINITELY help here. There are probably various/better/more expensive methods for achieving a glass like finish but all that jazz is for now, beyond me. If I were to reattempt this I would've washed the parts in IPA before curing even if it causes some frosting, as what you gain in clarity you lose in smoothness.

There's two little marks on the inside of the front half where you can dab a bit of white paint to simulate the specular highlight on the cornea. Finally, paint in the soles of the feeties/palms and you are done!!

I haven't experimented with other methods so good luck! This turned out to quite the ordeal so any support is appreciated like following my twitter (https://twitter.com/qosicart) where I'll be posting more creations, none of them being 3d.
