Super Mario 64 - Mario Figure +Keychain (v0.0.5)

Defined features of his belt, mustache, sideburns, hat 'M', and eyes.
Spent a few hours creating and revising this.

If you're looking for this model without the keyring hole, it is also attached in the download.

For the original model used in this project, take a look at the 'How I Designed This' below.

How I Designed This

Building the model

The base model used is located here:
https://www.models-resource.com/nintendo_64/supermario64/model/1637/
(which will need to be modified to 3d print)

I made some adjustments and changes to allow easier printing and detail. If you would like to make your own from the original model, keep these changes in mind in your process.

-adjusted feet for better balance-
The feet were leveled and widened to allow for Mario to stand.

-supports for hands-
Most important are the supports for the hands. Without them, you won't like the results (a huge mess).

-attach hands to body-
Part of the hands were extended to connect with the body for better building support. This way we don't have to rely on the hand supports for too much other than a starting base for the hands to be built from.

-head tilted up-
Due to not wanting to build a support for the nose to be formed, I opted to tilt Mario's head up a little bit and adjusted parts of the nose and back hairs that would of caused impossible prints.

-extruded the belt, buckle, and eyes-
Mainly for cosmetics and detailing. These are defined and are easily extruded. The original model uses textures in defined areas to display these, so for our model we extrude these defined areas to show detail.

-sideburns, mustache and 'M' hat-
Because the model uses textures and does not define these parts, we have to cut out our own. Tried to replicate the mustache as well as the M on the hat the best I could.

-keyring hole-
Extrude part of the hat up and add a hole.
