UPDATE AUG 28, 2020

this will be the new page for this model. the final release will be posted here. the old page will be deleted shortly. check out the youtube clip i made of what needs to be fixed instead of actually fixing it. not much more to go.

UPDATE AUG 25, 2020

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueIm7KFcOF0

newly included STL is OK at 2xSS, however when i export to 3xSS from BLEND, i get 3 highly connected edges which is pretty unusual. could be attributed to the manual bevels i'm using now instead of edge creases. just a heads up until i get this model finalized. 3xSS is not ready for primetime.

UPDATE AUG. 24, 2020

its almost there. unfortunately the BLEND i just posted has 3 highly connected edges most likely caused by the non-SS chains. besides that here is what i did:

  • new rotation

  • added the right sword that she leans on during her taunt pose

  • added glasses as an option for exporting STL from BLEND

  • countless other edits

  • tried a few new methods for generating hair profiles

  • used more manual edge beveling instead of hard edge creases where possible

here's what i'd still like to do:

  • model proper eyelashes from layers of transparencies

  • taper hair ends on squared off strands

  • selectively unskew certain hardware accessories skewed by vertex weights

stay tuned. there's another 2B in 'light armour' i'm finishing up and i'd also like to do a long-haired A2 in her default outfit.

early WIP of A2. this is a very intricate model set to weigh in at ~50MB once its finished... and that's only with 2xSS applied. i still have to add depth to the breast plate, knee 'wraps'. the chains and hardware are going to be a nightmare to print but i'll leave them in in the final STL while providing the option to leave them out in the BLEND i'll be posting later on. the hair is just as complex as 2B's, but since i know how to get around it now there isn't much more to do w/ it--i might just simplify it using the main shape (as pictured) w/ a few layers of depth underneath.

anyways, to sum it up:
its nowhere near being ready to print. and although its a very time-consuming model that might never even print properly, i've already spent a lot of time on it, so it will be completed....... eventually.
