Print this scorpion and scare your friends!
Much like the spider I designed, this scorpion is easy to print and is designed to be shaped and posed after the printing.
Using a bowl of boiling water, dip the legs, claws and tail to bring this print to life.
I designed this print to have minimum supports but the stinger may need some support when printing.

Print Settings

Printer:

Raise3D Pro2

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.1 but still looks good at .2

Infill:

I found that if you don't have enough infill, (less than 5%) you may crush the scorpion when shaping it.

Notes:

I set the bottom and top layers to be concentric, I found that this gives a little bit more detail to the print.

The tail sting may need some support

If you can, print the scorpion without a raft, the legs may lift up though.

Try to be careful where the joints are, specifically make sure when folding the top and bottom halves together to heat it up so it doesn't snap.

Post-Printing

Please don't burn yourself when shaping it. I found that boiling water was the easiest way to shape the scorpion, it still takes a bit of practice and patience .

Have a look at some scorpions via google images to get an idea of what positions you want the scorpion to look like.

You can glue the top and bottom parts together, but I found that if you pose the legs right, the legs can hold the halves together.

Have Fun!
