This is very much a work in progress. Posted model files are reasonably complete, but may be updated over time.

This is a 1:53 scale replica of the Saturn V Apollo 11 mission that landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. This year marks the 50th anniversary and this model is intended to commemorate that event.

The model will come in two variants. One is a display only version that is entirely 3D printed. The second is a working high power model rocket that is intended to fly. Many of the pieces are common so it made sense to design both simultaneously, and I will be building both simultaneously. Flying this rocket requires certification, so if you're new to high power rocketry this is not where you should start. There are great low power kits from Estes and Apogee Components that are a better choice. Also, if you're a high power flyer and new to 3D printing this may not be a good choice. I'm doing this on my time scale and getting it built in time may be a challenge so you risk missing the anniversary. Get the LOC kit if that's your goal. If you're just 3D printing a display model though then this is the place to be.

Assembly will be pretty straight forward. I'm doing a video series on it here:

The videos and files will be updated as the build progresses. I'm starting from the Launch Escape System (LES) at the top of the rocket and working my way down.
