I modified the mesh and did a bit more slicing:
base socket modified:
removed the alignment stuff (?)
added 2mm to the bottom to look better when it stands on a surface
made bottom concave
head section:
cura slicer ran amok when slicing the original model, so I cleaned up the head inner part

Prepare pieces
sand the bottom surfaces (and top surfaces of the lower pieces).
also sand the outer faces to look how you want.
Glue together
Stack/orient the pieces to match the preview STL, then glue 'em together.
I print my parts in ABS, so I prefer ABS+Acetone as glue.
