Someone close to me is a fan of SUE the T-Rex (FMNH PR2081) on Twitter, so I designed a T-Rex fidget spinner for them!
This spinner requires a 8x22x7mm 608 bearing.
The T-Rex image used is "fossil", by Raf Verbraeken on The Noun Project. (I have purchased a royalty-free license for this image.)
Printer:
Rapide Lite 200
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
0.2mm
Infill:
100%
Notes:
You will need good print bed adhesion to print without any support, because there is a lot of detail in the first layer. I used Fleks3D to accomplish this.
I used 3D Solutech Silver Metal PLA for the pictured models.
All the parts put together print in about 2 hours on my Rapide Lite 200.
Adding the bearing should not require much force. However, this means that you may need to adjust the position of the bearing if the spinner seems off-balance.
The caps should clip together inside the bearing and hold together. You can use glue if you like, but I have not found it to be necessary on my prints.
