Medieval sword

Total length 1.15 metre (45,27 inch).

Components (10);

  • Printed parts (5)
    o   Blade-1
    o   Blade-2
    o   Blade-3
    o   Guard
    o   Pommel

  • Standard components (5)
    o    4 Wooden dowels 8mm x 35mm
    o    PVC pipe diameter 32mm length 240mm

The 4 dowels are used to connect the 3 blade pieces together (you could choose print components instead of using the wooden dowels). The dowels actually worked out great, they made for an excellent connection between the 3 blade pieces.

Pvc pipe will function as grip (you can choose the length of the pvc pipe as you like  I went for a length of 240mm).

Notes:

Slicer Cura

All piece where printed with a Brim.

The 3 pieces of the blade (Blade-1,2 and 3) and the pommel where printed without supports.

The guard piece needed some adjusting I had to lower the Overhang angle for support to 30 degrees instead of the default 60 degrees.

Post-Printing

Sword assembled (gaps filled with Epoxy putty). Now to finish sanding and painting.

How I Designed This

Modelling

Modelled in Fusion 360 with mostly basic features like extrudes, revolves, chamfers and rounds.
Skulls where a Brep ( Basic representation) off the beautiful skull model by trailogy and where just placed in the model using the insert Mesh feature.
